Nomex: Aramid Fiber Paper
Aramid fiber, more commonly known by its brand name, Nomex, is a common choice of electrical insulation for many electrical equipment applications. It has a great combination of strength, thermal stability, and dielectric strength, making it the benchmark to which all other electrical insulation products are judged.
Applications include: Motor insulation, transformer insulation, generator insulation, coil separators, slot liners, end fillers
- Available in paper roll and pressboard sheet format
- Exceptional thermal stability at operating temperatures up to 200 °C
- Inherent dielectric strength
- UL 94 VTM-0 and V0 flammability rating
- UL 746A HWI-0, HAI-3 or less, HVTR-3, CTI-3
- Outstanding mechanical toughness to resist tearing and abrasion
- Excellent chemical resistance to acids, alkalis, solvents, oils, and refrigerants
- Excellent flame resistance does not support combustion
